Vanessa Rothe

Having curated over 50 unique high quality exhibitions in the last 20 years for such venues as The California Museum of Fine Art, the LA Art Show, the Abend gallery in Colorado, and the Arcadia gallery in Pasadena, Vanessa Françoise Rothe is a curator and fine artist honored to be an official Member of the famed Salmagundi Art Club New York. A signature member of the American Impressionist Society and founder of the 'Americans in Paris' worldwide artists program, she has exhibited her paintings at such places as the Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction, The Laguna Beach Art Museum, The California Museum of Fine Art, and The Galerie DDG and Galerie Prince de L'oeil in Paris, France. Owner of the internationally acclaimed Vanessa Rothe Fine Art Gallery, Movement, Light, and Life would not have been possible without Vanessa's direct involvement and her unparalleled insight into the history of Impressionism.

Derek Harrison

Fine Artist

An artist working in the realist genre space creating dramatic figurative and landscape works, Derek began his artistic journey at a young age. He has been a finalist in the ARC Salon for several years in a row, was awarded 1st place two years in a row at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Artist’s Table, and has had his work included in feature films and television shows. An instructor at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, Derek's original paintings directly shaped the world of Movement, Light, and Life. He is currently represented by Waterhouse and T.H. Brennen in Santa Barbara and Scottsdale, respectively.

Cheryl Kline

Fine Artist

Founder and owner of Kline Academy of Art in Culver City, Cheryl’s works have been purchased by institutions around the globe and by such high-profile individuals as Oprah Winfrey, Halle Berry, and Jessica Biel. A representational artist, Cheryl has won numerous awards for her work including an Honorable mention from the Portrait Society of America, the Fine Arts Club of Pasadena, and the famed Salmagundi Club in New York. Having studied with master artist Jan Saether at The Bruchion School of Realist Art and at The Florence Academy of Art in Italy to learn the historic painting techniques of classical artists, her book "A Treatise on Portrait Painting" is available for purchase on Amazon. Known for her magnificent “Operas In the Sky” collection, her historical knowledge was paramount in creating the world of our short film.

Sharon Weaver

Fine Artist

Awarded the Southwest Art Magazine Award of Excellence at the 112th California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibition, Sharon is a fellow teacher at the Kline Academy and was juried into the Oil Painters of America 20th Annual National Exhibition. An award winner at the Carmel Art Festival, she is a founding member of PAC6 Painters, a group dedicated to painting the beauty and grandeur of the American landscape. Today, Sharon’s art combines her understanding of nature with her exceptional drawing skills to create unforgettable images. The bold and unique colors in her work, much like the California Impressionists who first inspired her, are a feast for the eyes and can be seen in our short film.

Ray Roberts

Fine Artist

Like many successful artists before him, Ray first pursued a career as an illustrator, establishing a studio in Los Angeles and then Scottsdale, Arizona, before switching into fine art in 1992. His work has received awards from such establishments as the Laguna Art Museum, Irvine Heritage Show, and the Maynard Dixon Country Invitational. Ray currently teaches figure and landscape workshops across the country and abroad, his deft touch visible throughout Movement, Light, and Life starting from its opening scene.
